Cartoon Illustration - Freelance Cartoonist Portfolio
As a professional freelance cartoonist for hire I offer cartoon illustration as one of my primary services. I provide cartoon illustration to clients who want to tell a story, convey a message, embellish their products, or just grab the attention of their target audiences through the use of cartoon illustration. And I can help you with your project too.
My passion for cartoon illustration is enormous and has been an enjoyable life-long obsession of mine. I have spent my life learning to illustrate in different cartooning styles, and providing cartoon illustration services to fit the needs and purposes of the clients who hire me. So no matter what your project is, I can provide you with award-winning cartoon illustration!
Prior to starting my business in 2001, I’ve spent years in employed positions like Lead Illustrator, Lead Designer, and Art Director in a variety of industries. As such I gained extensive experience working, designing, and illustrating for different industries, and I bring all that knowledge and talent to the table with a specific purpose of helping my clients succeed.
As a professional freelance cartoonist I’m accustomed to designing and illustrating whatever, and however the client’s need. My cartoon style as a freelance cartoonist for hire is very versatile as I can match many different cartooning styles like Disney, Japanese Anime, Nickelodeon, Hanna Barbera, Comic Book, and many other styles. I have even provided cartoon illustration for licensed characters such as Mattel’s Barbie; (1) Barbie children’s book and (2) a few issues of Barbie Magazine. Those cartoon illustrations and other licensed character illustrations are shown in the Licensed Character Portfolio.
Freelance Cartoon Illustration
It is very hard to define or condense “cartoon illustration” into a few sentences. For the purposes of this cartoonist portfolio, we will just say that cartoon illustration is a full scene drawn in a cartoon style of art. Some cartoon illustrations may defy categorizing them so I just put them into the filter button below named “Cartoon Scenes”.
Children’s book illustration would fit into this category of cartoon illustration, but with the number of books I’ve illustrated, I created a special page dedicated to Children’s Book Illustration specifically.
Cartoon Illustration Style
As a life-long freelance cartoonist, I have illustrated in different cartoon illustration styles throughout the years. Some possible examples might be Disney style, Comic book style, Nickelodeon style, Anime style, a unique stylized look, or any combination of cartooning styles.
In some cases you may have seen a cartoon illustration style that you like. So another possibility is to bring me a sample of that drawing style. I should be able to tell you with some degree of accuracy if I can match that style illustration or at the very least come close to matching it.
Note: For comic book style examples, see Comic Book Style Illustration.
Candy Land Illustration Series
My Candy Land illustrations are a personal favorite to mine. These cartoon illustrations are a hybrid of both cartoon illustration and a semi-realistic style of illustration. This is an on-going series I’m slowly working on when I get the time.
Like the famous game we all played growing up, my Candy Land illustrations are of a fantasy world where all the elements in that world are made of candy. As this is a work in progress, I’m not certain where this concept will venture, however, I do like how the cartoon illustrations are coming along!
Game Art for “No Clue” Game
Although this was a different type of game than the famous board game we all grew up playing, it was a card game that had a similar objective. I was asked to provide cartoon illustration and create the many different illustrations for the game cards, such as all the possibilities of who, what, when, where, and how.
This cartoon illustration portfolio contains several of those illustrations. Just select the specific filter button below to see cartoon illustrations specific to this card game. In addition, you can see even more cartoon illustrations for this game in the Game Illustration Portfolio.
Game Art for “Papers and Trash” Game
This was a board game I was asked to provide cartoon illustration for that involved drawing many different ‘before and after’ cartoon scenes. It was a fun family game that made a serious point about global warming and our overall responsibility to take care of this precious planet of ours.
Most of the illustrations that appear in this portfolio are shown only as cartoon illustrations. You can see more of these illustrations and how they were used in the Game Illustration Portfolio..
