This character was one of the American boys that came accompanied his friend to Ireland where the adventure began. Here's another illustration from the children's book I illustrated about a baby elephant that farted a lot. It was a charming moment in the story when the little girl shows her affection for her unusual and gaseous pet (the baby elephant) and the normal choice of pets the other children had.

After yesterday's post about a children's book I illustrated about a baby elephant that farted...I mentioned that I had to think about what a fart would look like if you could see the fart... then I had to do that again because that depiction was for a children's book... and this is what I came up with... for those of you that are older, remember the nursery song "beans, beans, the magical fruit, the more you eat, the more you toot"?

This are some early sketches for a children's book I illustrated. I don't remember what the book was called. It was going to be printed only in Poland. It was about a baby elephant that farted a lot. The bottom left one shows him in the process of farting (without the embellishment I put in the final illustration). And yes, I actually had to think about what a fart would look like if you could see it... hmmmmm....

Time to change things up a bit. I decided to show some sketches. I usually sketch on a traditional drawing table using graphite pencils, and then scan the sketch to finish illustrating on computer. This was a character sketch of a very dapper bear singing and acting cool... The chicken heads were exploratory for another project...
